Cervical Disc

There are six disc that lie in the cervical spine. These disc can cause a constellation of pain and symptoms in the neck and into the shoulders and arms.

Cervical Sprain/Strain

The neck or cervical spine has a large range of motion that comes at the cost of bony stability. When excessive stress is placed upon the cervical spine, ligamentous “sprains” and muscular “strains” are often the result.

Upper Cross Syndrome

Upper cross syndrome is a predictable pattern of alternating tightness and weakness involving neck and shoulder muscles. (1) This often contributes to neck and back pain along with diagnoses like cervical radiculopathy, cervicogenic headaches, cervicogenic vertigo, TMJ dysfunction, cervical disc pain, cervical sprain/strains, thoracic outlet syndrome, rib dysfunction and rotator cuff pathology.

TMJ/TMD

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) is a complex group of muscle and articular (joint) disorders that affect the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and can lead to pain, dysfunction and eventual degeneration. Most causes of TMD are either muscular or articular, with muscular being the most common.

Vertigo

Vertigo is a catch-all term for a sensation of whirling and loss of balance. The most common cause of vertigo is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). (1-4) It is characterized by brief episodes of dizziness, nausea and/or nystagmus triggered by head movement.
